Every station should be able to stay on air when something fails.
- Know where your backup audio is: an emergency playlist, sustaining service or standby playout, and how to put it on air.
- Keep a printed copy of the procedure in the studio, so it can be followed even if the computers are down.
- Test it regularly, for example monthly, at a quiet time. A backup nobody has tried is a hope, not a plan.
- After using it, log what happened so the fault is fixed and the backup content can be refreshed.
